Mod-Roof > Cricket
What it does: A cricket is a small triangular roof structure that diverts water away from roof openings like chimneys, vents, or skylights. This command provides an easy method for adding crickets behind these openings to prevent water pooling and improve drainage.
π§ How to use the cricket command
Ensure your roof model already has a hole or fixture where you need the cricket
Go to Mod-Roof > Cricket
Select the line where you want the cricket constructed (typically the roof edge or opening perimeter line)
βWhen prompted for the cricket length, accept the default (which matches your selected line) or enter a custom length
Enter the pitch (slope) for the cricket
Choose whether to remove the roof plane beneath the cricket or keep it
Or

Field | Description |
Width | The width of the cricket. Defaults to the length of the selected line. |
Pitch | The slope angle of the cricket. Should be steep enough to direct water away effectively. |
Remove roof plane | Choose 'Yes' if you want to cut out the roof material beneath the cricket. Choose 'No' to keep the underlying roof plane intact. |

π‘ Tips for effective crickets
Make sure the cricket pitch is steep enough to direct water flow away from the opening or obstruction
Consider removing the roof plane beneath if you want a true cut-out for the cricket structure
β οΈ Important notes
The roof opening or fixture must exist before adding the cricket
Select the appropriate line carefully - this determines the cricket's position and default size
Choose cricket dimensions that match your local building codes and drainage requirements
