How do I change wall panel orientation?

Learn how to switch wall panels between horizontal and vertical siding orientation in Roof Wizard.

Menu path

Walls > Orientation

🧾 What it does

The Orientation command lets you change wall panels from horizontal siding to vertical siding (and vice-versa). When walls are first created in Roof Wizard, they default to siding orientation set in Cladding/Siding Allowances.

πŸ”§ How to change orientation

  1. Select the wall(s) you want to modify

  2. Go to Walls > Orientation

  3. Click to toggle between horizontal and vertical panel orientation

  4. The wall will immediately update to show the new orientation

πŸ›  Understanding orientation display

Panel direction lines show you the current orientation of your wall panels:

Display Setting

What You See

Hatching

Panel direction lines are visible as hatch patterns showing horizontal or vertical orientation

Filled planes

Panel direction lines are not visible until after panels have been applied to the wall

πŸ’‘ Changing orientation after panel application

You can change panel orientation even after panels have been applied to walls. When you change the orientation, the panels will automatically re-draw in the new direction.

⚠️ Important notes

If you cannot see the orientation lines on your walls, check your wall plane display settings. The direction lines are only visible when Hatching is set as the default display setting for wall planes.
