π§Ύ What it does
The Calc Adjacent Pitch tool allows you to determine the pitch of roof plane 'b' when you know the pitch of adjacent roof plane 'a'. You indicate the pitch of the known plane and digitise the eave lines, then the software automatically calculates the pitch of the unknown plane.
π When to use it
This tool is almost exclusively used when digitising or tracing 2D roof geometry by simply recreating the linework on the sketch underneath. Since you're not creating a 3D model, the calculated pitch might turn out to be almost any odd number - it is drawn and the pitch is determined.
β
This is important because the pitch factor is what is used to figure the lengths and quantities in the subsequent reports.
π§ How to use it
Select Calc Adjacent Pitch from the Construct Roof menu
When prompted, indicate the pitch of the known roof plane 'a'
Digitise the eave lines for both roof planes
The software will automatically calculate and display the pitch of plane 'b'
π‘ Key benefit
The calculated pitch factor ensures accurate lengths and quantities in your roofing reports, even when working with complex or irregular roof geometries from 2D sketches.
