How do I change the pitch of one or more roof planes?

Change the pitch of selected roof planes and recalculate the roof geometry.

Updated this week

Menu path

Mod-Roof > Change-Pitch

What this command does

The Change Pitch command allows you to modify the pitch of one or more roof planes within an existing roof model.

When applied, Roof Wizard:

  • Updates the pitch of the selected planes

  • Recalculates the affected geometry

  • Maintains connections to adjacent planes where possible

How to use Change Pitch

  1. Select Mod-Roof > Change-Pitch.

  2. Select one or more roof planes you want to modify.

  3. When finished selecting planes, right-click to confirm the selection.

  4. Enter the new pitch value when prompted.

  5. The selected planes are recalculated using the new pitch.

Selecting roof planes

You can select roof planes in either of the following ways:

  • Turn on roof planes via Tools > Show/Hide-Planes, then click directly on the plane(s) you want to change

    OR

  • Click the tick mark shown in the corner of each roof plane

Both methods allow multiple planes to be selected in a single operation.

Important usage notes

  • This command is intended for small pitch adjustments.

  • Large pitch changes may cause adjacent planes to update in unexpected ways, as the software will still attempt to make the geometry fit.

If major pitch changes are required, additional roof modification commands may be needed to achieve the desired result.

Summary

Use Change Pitch to adjust the pitch of one or more roof planes without rebuilding the roof. Select the planes, enter a new pitch, and Roof Wizard recalculates the geometry automatically.
