How do I change text entity properties?

Change the font, case, and layer properties of existing text entities in your CAD drawings.

Menu path

CAD > CAD Edit > Change > Text


What it does

The Text Change command opens the Font Text Change dialog box, allowing you to modify existing text entities and their properties in your CAD drawings.


🔧 How to use it

  1. Select the Text Change command from the CAD tools

  2. The Font Text Change dialog box will display

  3. Configure your desired changes using the options below

  4. Click True Type Font button to access additional font parameters if needed

  5. Apply changes to selected text entities

🧾 Text Change Options

Option

Description

Change Case

Controls how the text case is modified:
No-Change: Text case remains unchanged
Upper: Converts all text to uppercase
Lower: Converts all text to lowercase

Change CPL

Controls the Current Plot Layer assignment:
No-Change: Text remains on its current layer
Cur-CPL: Moves text to the currently active plot layer


⚠️ Important Notes

Drawing Mode Limitation: This command will have no noticeable effect on text entities when working in drawing mode. The changes will be applied but may not be visually apparent until you switch to a different view mode.


💡 Tips

Use the Change CPL option to quickly move text entities to your active layer for better organisation of your drawing elements.
