How do I change line properties in my drawing?

Use the Line Change command to modify properties of existing lines in your CAD drawings.

The Line Change command enables the Line Change dialog box which allows the alteration of existing line appearance options.

Menu Path

Top menu: CAD > CAD Edit > Change > Line

Right menu: CAD > Line > Change

🔧 What it does

This command opens a dialog box that lets you modify the properties of lines that already exist in your drawing.

🛠 How to use it

To use the Line Change command:

  1. Select the line(s) you want to modify

  2. Access the Line Change command

  3. The Line Change dialog box will open

  4. Alter the line options as needed

  5. Apply your changes

Colour

Layer - the layers for your roof model are controlled by the Roof Wizard software. You would not normally have to modify these.

Style - sets the appearance of the lines

Weight - sets the line weight or thickness

⚠️ Important

  • The Line Change command works only on existing CAD lines in your drawing. You must select the lines you want to change before using this command.

  • All lines created by the Roof Wizard roof modelling tools have their settings controlled by the line type function in your Preference Settings - Set-Up > Preference Settings > System Preferences [Set Line Syles].

🛠 Using the Copy function

The Copy option allows you to take all the display properties (colour, layer, style, weight) from an existing line and apply them to other lines. This is useful when you want to match the appearance of lines in your drawing.
