Cover > Fixture Array (Pulldown Menu Only)
🧾 What it does
The Copy Array function allows you to make multiple copies of roofs or roof elements while maintaining all their properties. When you copy roof planes and roof lines, they keep their material categories and will be counted together as one job for estimation purposes once the modelling is complete.
This is particularly useful for creating arrays of identical roof sections or fixtures like solar panels.
🔧 How to use it
Select the Cover > Fixture Array command from the pulldown menu
Select the roof entities to be copied - you can select them one at a time or draw a box around the whole model
The selected entities will be highlighted to show your selection
Right-click the mouse to complete the selection
The Fixture Array dialog box will appear
Set the basis of the array and specify the distance between each element
Confirm your settings to create the array

The Cover > Fixture Array function is ideal for scenarios such as:
Creating multiple identical roof sections
Duplicating solar panel installations across a roof surface
Copying roof fixtures or accessories in a regular pattern
Example 1: Basic Roof Copy
Draw one roof section, then use Fixture Array to duplicate it 3 times in one step.
Example 2: Solar Panel Array
An array of solar panels can be efficiently placed on the roof using the Fixture Array function.
🛠 Fixture Array Options
The Fixture Array Options dialog box allows you to configure:
Setting | Description |
Array basis | Defines the direction and pattern for the array |
Distance | Sets the spacing between each copied element |
💡 Important notes
Fixture Array preserves all non-graphical attributes that define the roof elements and their associations with capping, trim and accessories. This means when you define one roof element and copy it, all elements in the array share the same attributes and material properties.
This ensures consistent material estimation and maintains the relationships between roof components and their accessories.
