What types of roofing and wall materials does Roof Wizard support?

Roof Wizard supports a wide range of roof and wall/cladding systems—and lets you include the full job scope in your takeoff: roofing/cladding materials, flashings, drainage, battens/purlins, fixings, fixtures, fall protection, underlay, and insulation.

🏠 Roofing material

Metal

  • Metal panel/sheet systems (including common standing seam and sheeted metal workflows)

  • Insulated metal panels

  • Metal tiles

Tile / Shingle / Shake

  • Tile roofs

  • Shingle roofs

  • Shake roofs (and similar “piece” roofing systems)

Membrane (flat roofs)

  • Common flat roof membrane workflows (e.g., single-ply / built-up style takeoffs)

🧱 Walls (cladding / siding)

Wall systems and accessories

Roof Wizard can also be used for wall estimating, including:

  • Wall cladding/siding materials (metal cladding, sheet/panel systems, and other defined wall products)

  • Openings (windows/doors) and wall-related quantities

  • Wall-related trims/flashings, corners, and finishing items (as defined in your setup)

🧩 Flashings (and related components)

Trims, drainage, and structure items

You can include the supporting items that are easy to miss, such as:

  • Flashings / trims (ridge/hip/valley/edge, aprons, corners, etc.)

  • Battens / purlins (depending on your system/market)

  • Gutters and downpipes (AU) / downspouts (US)

🔩 Fixings and hardware

Small items that matter

  • Screws / nails / fasteners

  • Clips

  • Brackets

  • Adhesives / sealants / tapes (where applicable)

🌀 Fixtures

Roof penetrations and add-ons

  • Whirly birds / roof vents

  • Skylights

  • Solar panels

  • Pipe penetrations and other roof fixtures you want included in your outputs

🪢 Fall protection

Safety items

  • Fall protection components you want quantified as part of the job scope (configured to your workflow)

🧊 Underlay and insulation

Weather + thermal layers

  • Underlay / sarking (AU) / underlayment (US)

  • Membranes (where applicable)

  • Insulation (where required)

💭Anything and everything else

Add any other material or labour item to your quote.

If you need to add any other unique costs you can add this as an acessory or extra item.

This could be delivery fees, site permits, crane hire, etc.

You could even include a slab of beer onto your quote for those Friday afternoon jobs.

⚙️ Can it match my product range?

Yes—your library is configurable

Roof Wizard can be configured to match your specific product range, profiles, accessories, and reporting outputs—so what you estimate reflects what you actually supply/install.

🧑‍🔧 Labour calculations

Price labour across the whole job

Roof Wizard can also be set up to calculate labour against your materials - so you can estimate labour for roofing, cladding, flashings, fixings, fixtures, and other job components using the rules/rates that match your workflow.

Labour as an accessory.

You can define a labour cost by an area or linear length.

Scribing is a good example. Charged as $x per linear length of hip/ridge.

🌏 AU vs US terminology

Same thing, different words

  • Cladding (AU) = Siding (US)

  • Downpipe (AU) = Downspout (US)

  • Sarking (AU) = Underlayment (US)

  • Battens / purlins wording varies by market and system
