What it does
This feature lets you define labour and material extras that may be automatically added to each of your quotes under Reporting > Supply-Only and Reporting > Supply+Install.
β
These are standard items you may always include as part of a job quote or bid, such as scaffolding, permits, cleanup, or delivery charges, or items that you need to be prompted for, or just selected from a list as required.
π§Ύ How to set up extra items
Select Set-Up > More > Extra Items
Click Add New in the dialog box
Enter the following details for each extra item:
Supplier name
Description
Product Code (optional but recommended)
Material quantity and cost per item
Labour quantity and cost per item
Choose the appropriate estimation method from the drop-down menu
Specify whether the item is labour or material category
Set the utilisation preference
Click OK to save
β
π§ Estimation methods
Choose the appropriate estimation method for each extra item:
Method | Description |
Quantity Alone | Use the exact quantity specified |
Multiply Quantity by Roof Area | Multiply the quantity by the roof area to calculate required number |
Spaced along... | Space items along roof model line types (ridge, hip, valley, wall lines, battens) |
π§ Item configuration options
Setting | Description |
Category | Specify whether the item is labour or material |
Utilisation | Set whether item is always used or if you should be prompted for it or selected as required |
Alternate Category | Set alternate category for compatibility with your setup of Quote Groups for combining groups of items for costing purposes |
π‘ Pro tip: Using extras as checklists
Create extra items with zero quantity to use as reminders on your proposals. These will appear on the list as prompts to add them by changing the quantity to the required number. Zero-quantity items can be set to not print when preparing the proposal.
π How extras appear on quotes
Labour items will be displayed in the labour sub-total, while material items will be displayed on the quotation page under the appropriate reporting sections.
β οΈ File storage
When you click OK, the details are saved in a file called extras_v6.csv in the ..\User folder.
