How do I set up extra items for quotes?

Configure labour and material extras that are automatically added to every quote, including scaffolding, permits, and cleanup items.

What it does

This feature lets you define labour and material extras that may be automatically added to each of your quotes under Reporting > Supply-Only and Reporting > Supply+Install.

These are standard items you may always include as part of a job quote or bid, such as scaffolding, permits, cleanup, or delivery charges, or items that you need to be prompted for, or just selected from a list as required.

🧾 How to set up extra items

  1. Select Set-Up > More > Extra Items

  2. Click Add New in the dialog box

  3. Enter the following details for each extra item:

    • Supplier name

    • Description

    • Product Code (optional but recommended)

    • Material quantity and cost per item

    • Labour quantity and cost per item

  4. Choose the appropriate estimation method from the drop-down menu

  5. Specify whether the item is labour or material category

  6. Set the utilisation preference

  7. Click OK to save

πŸ’‘ Pro tip: Using extras as checklists

Create extra items with zero quantity to use as reminders on your proposals. These will appear on the list as prompts to add them by changing the quantity to the required number. Zero-quantity items can be set to not print when preparing the proposal.

Labour items will be displayed in the labour sub-total, while material items will be displayed on the quotation page under the appropriate reporting sections.

⚠️ File storage

When you click OK, the details are saved in a file called extras_v6.csv in the ..\User folder.
