🧾 What it does

Nett-Only reporting provides a pricing method based on price per unit area of roof and per unit length of line category. This process is particularly useful when you need to quote by price without selecting specific roof cover materials or defining individual components like flashings and battens, as your pricing typically includes any variations.

You set the base prices using Set-Up > Set Up Pay Rates > Nett-rates. The system reports a fixed set of line items (roof and trim) and uses the geometric (nett) values as quantities.

πŸ”§ How to use it

  1. Model your roof in Roof Wizard

  2. Go to Reports > Nett-Only

  3. The Nett-Only dialog box displays with your roof calculations

  4. Review the line items and quantities

  5. If needed, select a line item and insert your own description - these changes apply to this quotation only

  6. Click the Save button when finished to save your quotation details for future recovery

πŸ›  Bill of Quantities workflow

You can create quotes on net roof areas without drawing them up if you have all the roof quantities provided. This is particularly useful when working with Bill of Quantities from Quantity Surveyors with no roof measurement details. This process is common in the UK market where jobs are often supplied as Bill of Quantities only.

Steps for Bill of Quantities:

  1. Open the Nett-Only reporting dialog

  2. Click the [Options] button

  3. Select to display zero quantity items so you can add any automatically added Extra items needed for the job, that will come across with zero quantity:

  4. Double-click any cell in a line item to change its value

  5. Enter quantities directly into the Quantity field

  6. Click Enter - the material side of the job will be costed automatically

πŸ”§ Labour calculations

If you need to include labour as well as materials:

  1. Click the Copy Quantities to Labour Items >> button

  2. All quantities from material fields will automatically copy to corresponding labour fields

  3. Click the Labour Subtotal button to ensure labour is calculated correctly

πŸ’‘ Quote Groups integration

These functions work in conjunction with Quote Groups to produce custom quotations. This is often required when responding to requests for quotations from Quantity Surveyors who supply the quantities and you provide the costings for your company to deliver the goods and services.

⚠️ Important notes

  • You have the same facilities available as in the Supply and Install reporting dialog

  • Custom descriptions apply only to the current quotation

  • Always save your quotation to recover details later

  • This method is ideal when pricing includes all variations and components
