How do I generate a cutting list for wall panels?

What it does

The Tally-Cutlist command quantifies cladding panels into a detailed cutting list showing material requirements, panel lengths, and total quantities needed for your wall project.

Prerequisites

Before using this feature, you must first generate wall panels for your project. The cladding panels need to be created before you can generate their cutting list.

How to generate a wall panel cutting list

  1. After generating your wall panels and cladding, select the Tally button from the wall design toolbar

  2. Roof Wizard displays the cutting list in a dialog box

  3. Review the cutting list data and make any required adjustments

  4. Export or print the cutting list as needed

The cutting list dialog shows comprehensive information about your wall panel requirements:

Information Type

Description

Material Selected

Shows all material types if multiple have been selected

Panel Length Summary

Lists panel lengths and the number of each length to be cut

Total Coil Length

Total length of coil required to complete the job

Area Calculations

Area of wall panels plus the area of the walls

File Information

Database and model name for the file created for this job

Sheet Allowance File

Shows the cutting allowances file being used for the job

Manually indicate specific sheets/panels for deletion from the cutting list

The sheet allowance file displayed at the bottom of the screen contains the cutting allowances for your job. This file is selected when you set up the cutting allowances and determines waste calculations and cutting margins.

  1. Review the automatically generated cutting list

  2. Use the Delete function to remove panels below your minimum size threshold

  3. Manually delete any additional panels as needed

  4. Change materials if required using the Change Material button

  5. Export the final cutting list to CSV for use in other programs
