✅ What Drop-Eave does

The Drop-Eave command lets you drop the eave along the full length of a plane edge, based on a horizontal offset.

🧠 How it relates to Atrium

This command is like the Atrium command, but it assumes the full length of the eave.

🛠️ How to use Drop-Eave

  1. Select Mod-Roof > Drop-Eave.

  2. When prompted, locate the eave you want to drop.

  3. Enter the horizontal offset you want the eave to move.

📐 What the horizontal offset actually does

  • Roof Wizard uses your horizontal offset plus the pitch of the plane.

  • The eave is then projected in the line of the plane by the horizontal amount you entered.

  • The net effect is the eave is dropped down in the plane of the roof (i.e. at the same pitch).

💡 Note: Dropping the eave by a specific vertical amount

If you want to drop the eave down by a specific vertical amount, enter the following into the dialog box:

  • dh / tan(pitch)

    • dh = the amount you want to drop the eave by

    • pitch = the pitch of the roof plane in degrees
