Why does my CAD template text “explode” when I print?

If text “explodes” across your CAD report after editing a template, your template Plot Scale is likely set incorrectly (often 100). Set View > Plot Scale back to 1:1.00 in Roofwiz.dab, save, and reprint.

💥 When I print to my newly edited CAD template, my text "explodes" all over the screen.

This is usually caused by the plot scale being set to 100 in the template when you edited the template, to add a new Key Text String or stretch the diagonal line a bit or increase the size of the page, or what ever.

When the roof/wall drawing is inserted into the template with the incorrect plot scale, and unpacked, the text "explodes".

It looks like this:

Or even more scary, like this:

The fix is easy

  1. Open the template in Roofwiz.dab.

  2. Check that View > Plot Scale is set to 1:1.00.

  3. File > Save the template figure.

Sorted.
