How do I customise the menu layout and interface options?

Configure menu complexity, licensing modes, and save your preferred interface settings in Roof Wizard.

Menu path

File > Layout

🧾 What it does

The Layout options allow you to customise the software interface by controlling menu complexity and saving your preferred settings. This simplifies the appearance of the software, especially for new users, by turning less often used menu options on and off to aid with instruction and learning.

πŸ›  Status Line Display Options

The software includes both Simple (standard) and Complex status line modes. The Complex mode returns to a previous format requested by longer-term users who relied on information provided in this display.

To configure status line display:

  1. Turn on the right hand menu (Menu On/Off on the Pulldown menu)

  2. Select CAD > Defaults > Switches

Provides more details about settings - Complex Status line displayed:

  3. Choose your preferred status line format

  4. Go to File > Layout > Save Values to preserve this setting for future sessions

πŸ’‘ Save Values Function

Save Values writes all the custom settings that you wish the software to return to. The details are written to a file called Values.def in the ../User folder. This ensures your preferred interface configuration loads automatically when you restart the software.
