How do I use the TIFFOPT.dat file for custom TIFF export?

Configure custom TIFF image output settings using the TIFFOPT.dat file (special installations only).

Important: This feature only works for a single customer with a special need for this control. It does not work for regular Roof Wizard installations.

🧾 What it does

The TIFFOPT.dat file allows you to define the size and resolution of the output TIFF file, plus control over what is displayed. This enables custom TIFF export configurations for specialised integration requirements, particularly for SAP integration scenarios.

πŸ”§ How to create and use TIFFOPT.dat

  1. Create a new text file named TIFFOPT.DAT

  2. Add your configuration parameters to control image size, resolution and display options

  3. Save the file to your preferred location (see File Location section below)

  4. The software will automatically detect and use these settings for TIFF export

πŸ›  TIFFOPT.DAT file format example

A typical TIFFOPT.DAT configuration produces:

Setting

Description

Image dimensions

1200 x 800 pixels

Width and height of the exported TIFF image

Resolution

Dots per inch for image quality

Coursing display

Colour mode

Note: The exact parameter syntax and additional options available depend on your specific installation requirements. Contact support for the complete parameter list for your installation.

πŸ“ File location options

The TIFFOPT.dat file can be placed in any of these locations - the software will automatically find it:

  • User folder - Recommended default location

  • Corp folder - For corporate-wide settings

  • System folder - For system-level integration

  • Any accessible location - Software searches all standard folders

For SAP integration scenarios, place the file in the location specified by your integration documentation.

⚠️ Important limitations

  • This functionality is only available for a single customer installation with special requirements

  • Standard Roof Wizard installations do not support this feature

  • If you believe you need custom TIFF export control, contact support to verify if this feature is available for your installation

  • The specific parameters and options available are customised per installation
