How do I set up downpipe data (Downpipe_V6.csv)?

Learn how to configure downpipe specifications, pricing, and supplier information in the Downpipe_V6.csv data file.

Updated this week

The Downpipe_V6.csv file contains all downpipe data used for roofing drainage system estimation and costing. Downpipes are vertical pipes that carry rainwater from gutters to ground level or drainage systems.

🧾 What the downpipe data file contains

This CSV file stores specifications for different downpipe products including dimensions, materials, supplier information, and pricing. The system uses this data when you add downpipes to your roof designs for accurate material estimation and costing.

πŸ”§ File format and fields

The file uses semicolon (;) separators with the following structure:

Field

Description

Field 1

The name of the supplier

Field 2

The type of downpipe item (diameter, dimensions, or profile description)

Field 3

Gauge (or base metal thickness) of downpipe material

Field 4

Finish of downpipe material

Field 5

Product code 1

Field 6

Length 1

Field 7

Cost of downpipe length 1

Field 8

Product code 2

Field 9

Length 2

Field 10

Cost of downpipe length 2

Field 11

Estimation Method

Field 12

Alternate category (for costing purposes)

πŸ’‘ Understanding dual product codes and lengths

Many entries include two product codes and lengths (Fields 5-6 and 8-9). This allows for:

  • Different standard lengths available from the same supplier

  • Alternative product codes for the same item

  • Flexibility in ordering and estimation

πŸ’‘ Key measurements and units

The examples show typical measurements in millimetres:

  • Gauge: Material thickness (e.g., 0.45mm, 0.55mm, 0.56mm for metal; 1.5mm, 2.0mm for UPVC)

  • Lengths: Standard lengths like 2400mm and 6000mm

  • Description: Diameter (100mm, 150mm, 200mm) or dimensions (100 x 50, 100 x 100)

⚠️ Important notes

  • All estimation method values show as 0 in the examples - this field may be used for future functionality

  • The file must end with 'END' on the final line

  • Empty fields are represented with commas but no values

  • Costs show as 0.000000 in examples - update with actual pricing as needed
