How do I generate a flashing cutting list?

Generate detailed cutting lists for flashings and trim items, including quantities and accessories for your roofing project.

Menu path

Cover > Flashings > Generate

🧾 What it does

The Generate command creates a comprehensive flashing cutting list for your job based on the estimation method you've set for each flashing type. This list includes all flashing and trim items, plus their associated accessories like stop ends, gutter clips, and rafter brackets.

Click Accessories to view all accessory items required for the installation

πŸ”§ How to use it

  1. Ensure you have set up your flashing assemblies and selected estimation methods for each flashing type

  2. If you have selected battens but haven't inserted them yet, you'll be prompted to do so when you run the Generate command

  3. Click the Generate command in the Cover > Flashing dialog

  4. The Flashing cutting list summary dialog box will display

  5. Review your cutting list for each flashing type and custom flashing flat sheets

  6. Use ExportCSV to export the list as a comma-separated value file for import into other systems

  7. Click Continue to return to the flashing dialog box

πŸ›  Understanding the cutting list

The cutting list dialog shows:

  • All flashing and trim items with quantities

  • Custom flashing requirements including number of flat sheets

  • Associated accessory items under the accessories heading

If you selected an estimation method that deals with each run individually, the cutting list for that run is automatically annotated on your drawing.

⚠️ Important notes

  • You must generate flashings before they will appear accurately in the Reporting summary

  • If you change any flashing type after generating, you must re-run the Generate command to update the cutting list

  • The cutting list is also displayed on the roof model for visual reference

πŸ’‘ Export options

Use the ExportCSV button to create a text file that can be:

  • Opened in text editors

  • Imported into spreadsheet programs

  • Used with other estimation or ordering systems
