How do I set identifiers for wall planes?

Learn how to assign unique identifiers to walls for identification on plans, elevations, and cladding panels.

Wall identifiers are unique labels that help you identify individual walls on plans and elevation drawings, and are also used to identify individual cladding panels associated with each wall.

🧾 What it does

This command allows you to assign a unique identifier to each wall plane in your project. These identifiers appear on plans and elevation drawings and are used to track individual cladding panels for each wall.

  1. Locate the Set Identifier for Wall Plane command in your toolbar or menu

  2. Click on the wall you want to identify

  3. Enter the identifier you want to use in the dialog box that appears

  4. Click OK to apply the identifier

πŸ’‘ Naming conventions

Consider using consistent naming conventions for your wall identifiers, such as:

  • W01, W02, W03 - for sequential numbering

  • NORTH-01, EAST-01 - for directional identification

  • A-WALL-01 - for building zone identification

πŸ’‘ Tips

  • Wall identifiers are visible in different drawing views, making it easier to reference specific walls across your project documentation

  • The same identifier system is used for tracking individual cladding panels, creating consistency across your project

  • Choose identifiers that will be meaningful to everyone working on the project
