Walls > Change Direction
What it does
The Change Direction command allows you to reverse the direction of wall panels, which is critical for proper formatting in wall reports and drawings. Wall direction determines which side of the wall is considered the "inside" versus "outside" face, affecting how materials and measurements are calculated and displayed.
π§ How to use it
Navigate to Walls > Change Direction in the menu
Click on the wall panel that you want to change direction for
The wall direction will immediately reverse
Repeat for any additional walls that need direction changes
π§Ύ Understanding wall direction
Wall direction refers to the orientation of the wall panel face:
Direction Indicator | Description |
Normal Direction | The wall face points in the originally drawn direction |
Reversed Direction | The wall face points in the opposite direction from original drawing |
π‘ When to change wall direction
Before generating reports: Ensure all walls face the correct direction for accurate material calculations
Material orientation: When wall panels need to face a specific direction for installation
Drawing consistency: To maintain uniform wall representation in elevation views
π Visual feedback
After changing direction, you may notice:
Wall panel graphics may flip or change orientation
Material representations may appear on the opposite face
Elevation views will show the wall from the new direction
β οΈ Important considerations
Always verify wall direction is correct before creating wall reports, as incorrect direction can result in:
Inaccurate material quantities
Wrong-side material assignments
Inconsistent drawing presentation
