Setup ⚙️
First, you must define a panel with stock lengths - example below for Interlock pressed steel tile profile where the maximum panel length is 8'.
Allowances 📏
To impose the stock lengths onto a job, you have to set a couple of things in your allowances.
You should save this allowance file and specify that it be used with that panel profile exclusively when you define the panel - Setup > Metal Panels.
If your stock lengths are in increments of 12” then you need to set “Round off … “ to 12”.
Then you set, apply minimum run length. All these things interact to create a cut list based on your stock lengths.
Generate and optimise the cut list ✅
Generate the cut list in the normal way, but after the panels have been applied to the model, go to Modify-Panels.
Then you select the option Modify Panels > Split Panels > Specify/Use the Maximum/Stock Length.
The panels are re-applied and optimised to suit the available stock lengths as shown below.
