The Walls component of the Roof Wizard has a [Modify > Siding/Cladding] function that allows you to realign wall panels to a line. This is so that you can align the panels with the edge of a door or window, at least that was the original intent. However, you can align the panels with any line you like, but the line has to exist in the model, so if it doesn't exist, create one!
This explanation assumes that you have completed the online training course for walls and wall panels and understand how it works.
✅ Example: align panels to the ridge apex
Take this example, you want the panels to align with the apex of the ridge point:
The default starting point for each wall is with panels applied and aligned with the wall corner.
✏️ Step 1 — Create a reference line at the apex (if needed)
If I want them aligned with the apex, then can create a line using [CAD > Line Insert > Vertical Length] and snap the start point to the apex. It doesn't matter how long the line is.
You could also copy an existing line which is even easier to do. Don't forget to delete the line if you copied a line with attributes or you will be adding to the quantities for that line type.
🔧 Step 2 — Realign the wall panels to the line
Now use the [Modify Siding/Cladding > Realign Panels] function, follow the prompts and select the newly placed line to align with.
🧹 Step 3 — Clean up (optional)
Then delete the line or leave it there, whatever suits you.
