✅ Solution #1: Check your Dimension Defaults
Normally this is because the text height has been set to 0.
Go to Set Up > Preference Settings > Dimension Defaults in the top menu.
Check that none of the heights here are set to 0.
Also check this setting while you’re here:
Pitch Dimension Precision set to 0 can stop pitch annotation from displaying.
While you’re there, check the following (if you want them on your model):
Show Storey on Pitch Dimension (storey on/off)
Pitch direction arrow (direction arrow on/off)
In the example below, the pitch is displayed as a 7 in 12 slope; the storey is storey 1 and the arrow shows the fall of the roof.
These are to help you check your job and confirm that everyone involved knows what they are working to.
✅ Solution #2: Check your default font is a TrueType font (not a CAD “vector” font)
There may also be another problem that stops the annotation from appearing — it is caused by the default font getting reset to the wrong font style.
The automatic function requires the default font to be a TrueType font. If it is set to a CAD Vector font, nothing appears on the model.
Turn on the right hand menu [Menu On/Off].
Select CAD > Text > Default.
If this dialog has the Font set to ISO, then you have vector fonts set as default. This is your problem.
Select the button at the bottom of this dialog to switch the text defaults back to a TrueType font, and select [OK].
Apply the pitch to your model again.
