🧠 How Fall Protection works in Roof Wizard

Fall Protection is defined as a flashing item because it is typically supplied on a per foot or per metre basis.

✅ Step-by-step: Define Fall Protection as a flashing

1️⃣ Open the Flashing setup

Go to:

Set up > Flashing

When the flashing dialog box is displayed:

2️⃣ Set the Finish to “Fall Protection”

Set the Finish field to:

Fall Protection

✅ This tells the software the item is a Fall Protection item.

It could be a linear metre/foot cost for 4 plank rail, fences, scaffold, or whatever — so long as it is costed on a linear basis.

🧾 Product Code rules (don’t skip this)

As is the case with all product definitions in Roof Wizard:

  • The Product Code needs to be a unique code for that item

  • typically you would use the supplier’s code, but you could also make something up

  • it must contain no spaces or special characters (@#$%^&* are not allowed)

📏 Recommended flashing settings

✅ It’s recommended to:

  • Set the maximum length to 0

  • Set the estimation method to Split each run up to the maximum length

💾 Save the flashing

Once all the required information is input:

✅ Select Add

✅ Confirm it’s available in Cover selections

Now, when you go to:

  • Cover > Select Tile, or

  • Cover > Select Metal

…the Fall Protection item you defined will be available to select from the drop down box.
