What this command does

The Atrium command lets you cut out a portion of the roof along an eave to create an atrium.
You can also use it to create a drop-down.

How to use Atrium

  1. Select Mod-Roof > Atrium.

  2. When prompted, select the eave line you want to modify.

  3. The Atrium defaults dialog opens. Enter the atrium parameters (see below).

  4. Confirm your settings to apply the cut-out.

Atrium defaults (what each setting means)

Distance along eave

  • The distance along the eave where the atrium cut-out will start.

  • Measured along the eave from the end closest to where you selected the eave.

  • For reference, that end begins to flash.

Atrium width

  • The width of the atrium cut-out.

Atrium depth

  • The depth of the cut-out measured horizontally.

  • If you enter a negative value, the atrium extends outward and forms an overhang.
