How do I check model integrity?

Use model checking tools to verify data structure integrity and clean up geometry issues in your roof model.

Tools > Check Model

The Check Model tools verify your roof model's data structure and automatically fix common geometry issues. This is particularly useful after making extensive modifications or performing multiple undo and redo operations that might have affected the model structure.

All results are reported in the prompt area at the top or bottom of your screen.

🧾 Main integrity tools

Tool

Description

Check-Model-Integrity

Checks the integrity of your roof's CAD model and deletes errant data. Results display in the prompt area if any elements are deleted. The ideal outcome is nothing deleted, confirming your model structure is sound.

Display-Coincident-Lines

Checks for lines that share the same position in space. These cause additional flashing materials to be ordered unnecessarily.

Merge-CoLinear-Lines

Merges lines that have been identified as being co-linear (lying on the same straight line).

Show-CoPlanar-Roof-Planes

Displays roof planes that are exactly across one another in space.

Delete-Free-Lines-Points

Automatically deletes all free lines and points not associated with a roof plane.

Link-Planes

Removes coincident lines between roof planes. These are created when major modifications or additions to the roof geometry are made. This tool cleans them up.

πŸ”§ Search tool

Tool

Description

Find-Text

Allows you to find any text, such as panel or flashing annotation on a large model. Define the exact wording and the software will find it and flash it on screen so you can modify or delete it.

⚠️ Administrator tools - Advanced users only

CAUTION! The following functions are not for general use and should only be used by system administrators or experienced users.

Tool

Description

Show-EleList

For system administrators to help debug models, including corrupt models. Shows all CAD entities that are related (e.g., two points define a line, multiple lines define a plane outline). It is hierarchical from the starting entity - select a point to show the lines.

Show-AppList

For system administrators to help debug models. Shows all Roof Wizard elements (displayed as lines and planes) that are related. For example, batten lines are applied to a roof plane and become part of the application list for the plane.

Delete-Element

Allows system administrators to delete elements, but must be used with extreme caution as anything deleted can break the structure that allows cutting lists, costing, labour etc. to be extracted.

Delete-Associated

Allows system administrators to delete elements and all associated elements in the list.

πŸ’‘ Important notes

  • You cannot perform an Undo on anything the system deletes using Check-Model-Integrity

  • Undo is available for Delete-Element and Delete-Associated functions if you make a mistake

  • All menu options in this dialog are continuous strings, which is required for options to be included in command strings such as pulldown menus and function keys
