π§Ύ Define Report Notes
This tool allows you to create a library of standard notes that can be reused across multiple reports, saving time and ensuring consistency in your quotations and estimates.
What it does
Define Report Notes creates reusable note templates that you can quickly add to any report. You can either use these pre-defined notes or type freehand notes directly in the [Supply and Install] dialogue box (though freehand notes aren't saved for reuse).
How to use it
Access this feature from the pulldown menu only
Click Add to create a new report note
Enter your note text in the edit dialogue
Click OK to save the note

π Note Structure
Modern reports use the ###QQNote structure which supports:
Up to 1,997 characters per note
Storage for up to 500 reports worth of notes
Automatic saving to Notes.dat file
π‘ Advanced Tip: Manual Note Creation
You can create notes faster by editing the Notes.dat file directly in Wordpad or Notepad. Save the file in the ...\User folder using this format:

π§Ύ Define Print Options
Pre-configure which reports you typically print for standard quotations or estimates, streamlining your workflow.
What it does
This feature lets you set up a default list of reports that will automatically be selected for printing, so you don't have to manually choose them each time.

The order of standard reports is fixed - do not change the order
When adding new templates, always add them to the bottom of the list

π§Ύ Define Drawing Options
Configure which report templates automatically print drawings in the same manner as standard reports.
What it does
This setting determines which of your report templates will automatically include drawing output alongside the written reports, maintaining consistency in your documentation package.
π§Ύ Edit User Templates
Customise the content and layout of your existing report templates to match your business requirements.
How to use it
Select the report template you want to edit from the list
The appropriate editor will open based on template type:
CAD reports/drawings:
Opens in Roof Wizard - File > Sub-figure > Open
(Usually saved in the RoofWiz.dab file)MS Word templates:
Opens in Microsoft Word
Make your required changes
Save CAD template - File > Sub-figure > Save As
(Usually saved in the RoofWiz.dab file)
Save the Word template - save as *.DOC format in the .../User folder
Adding New Templates
Click the Add/Edit button
You'll be prompted to specify which report to add
Follow the prompts to create your new CAD template
The available report or drawing options are saved to text files (CSV) that may also be edited using Excel.
UserReportNames.csv for report templates, and
UserDrawingNames.csv for drawing templates.
Before you can add them, you must design them.
The CAD based templates are predefined and a good starting point. As you become more familiar with the Roof Wizard capabilities, you may explore the expanded capabilities using templates designed in MS Word. When designing your templates, the best starting point is to review what reports you are using in your business now and reproduce the layout as a Word document. To allow for backwards compatibility, we save the new template as a Word *.DOC file without any loss of function.
