How do I set up UserReportNames.csv for report templates?

Learn how to customise report template names displayed in the Print options list using UserReportNames.csv.

Menu path

...\User folder > UserReportNames.csv

What it does

The UserReportNames.csv file allows you to customise the display names for CAD and Word/Excel report templates in the Print options list from the SupplyOnly or Supply+Install dialog, while keeping the actual template file names unchanged in your ...\User folder.

🧾 File Structure

The UserReportNames.csv file uses a simple two-column structure:

Column

Description

Column A

The custom name you want to display in the Print options list

Column B

The actual file name of the template stored in the ..\User folder

πŸ›  How it works

This file acts as a mapping system that connects user-friendly display names with the technical file names of your report templates. When you access the Print options, Roof Wizard will show the custom names from Column A instead of the actual file names from Column B.

This allows any template form or report to have a more descriptive, professional name when displayed to users, regardless of how the actual template files are named in your system.

πŸ’‘ Benefits

Using UserReportNames.csv allows you to:

  • Create user-friendly names for technical template files

  • Maintain consistent branding in your Print options

  • Keep original file naming conventions while improving user experience

  • Easily update display names without renaming actual template files
