Modify Text takes you to text options for report templates, including inserting key text, regular text, and your company logo, setting text defaults, and editing text after placement (change, move, copy, edit, delete, field width, and flip direction).

🧩 Insert options

  • Insert Key Text β€” Insert Key Text Strings that automatically creates the report

  • Insert Text β€” Insert regular text
    ​

  • Insert Co. Logo β€” Inserts your company logo onto a report template
    ​

  • Text Defaults β€” Sets the default text appearance when inserted
    ​

  • Change β€” Change text appearance after placement

  • Move β€” Moves the text to required location on template
    ​

  • Copy β€” Copies existing text on the template
    ​

  • Edit Text β€” Edits existing text on the template
    ​

  • Delete β€” Deletes text from your template
    ​

  • Make Text Float β€” Floats text over other CAD entities in the report, so as not to obscure text in the report.

  • Set Text Field Width β€” Sets the number of characters in each field
    ​

  • Flip Text Direction β€” allows text to be β€œmirrored”. This function is useful to assist in the modification of text in ISO views of your model, such as Wall Panel text, to improve readability.


πŸ“ Set Text Field Width

Accessed from the Pulldown menu, this function allows you to set the width of the text in a CAD Report. If this is not set correctly, especially for something like QQNotes in the CAD template, then the note is compressed into a small space so it is not legible or hangs off the edge of the page.

Select Tools > More > Set Text Field Width and follow the prompts to:

  1. first select the Key Text string text to be set
    ​

  2. then set the first and last point to define the width of the text field
    ​
