Why don’t my flashings show in Cover > Flashings even though I can see them in Set Up > Flashings?

If your flashings appear in Set Up > Flashings but not in Cover > Flashings, Turn Commercial Mode off in System Preferences to restore the standard flashing list.

Updated over a week ago

Why this happens

The flashing list may run in two modes:

✅ Standard mode (most users)

Suitable for the majority of users doing regular residential, most industrial and commercial structures.

🏗️ Commercial Mode (specialised)

We also have what we have called Commercial Mode which allows for predefined trim assemblies to be defined.
This option enables the use of Substrates, Roof Systems and Assembly Groups for specific large scale operators interfacing with very large material databases and assemblies. Not for general use.

If you can't see the trim and flashing that you have defined, then the likelihood is that the software has been set to Commercial Mode (with no commercial assemblies defined).

✅ Fix: Turn Commercial Mode off

  1. Go to:
Set Up > Preference Settings > System Preferences (top menu of the software)

  2. Find Commercial Mode and make sure it is set to:
    [No]

Your complete flashing list should now be visible.

🔁 What changes when you turn it off?

The software then reverts to the most usual flashing estimation process that does not use predefined assemblies.

This should always be set to [No] unless specifically requested by the AppliCad Support department to change.
